Chairman of the Jokargy Kenes Meets with Investors on Wind Power Projects in Karakalpakstan

The Chairman of the Jokargy Kenes of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, Amanbay Orynbaev, held a meeting with representatives of the Saudi company ACWA Power in Uzbekistan, led by John Zaidi.
At the outset of the meeting, the Chairman emphasized the special attention being given by the President of the country to the development of entrepreneurship and the improvement of the investment climate in Karakalpakstan.
The discussions focused on the wind power projects currently being implemented by ACWA Power in the republic, prospects for expanding the pipeline of future projects, and the effective utilization of existing opportunities.
It is worth noting that, under the “Nukus-1” project, a wind power plant with a capacity of 100 megawatts has already been commissioned. In addition, within the framework of the “Nukus-2” project, a 200-megawatt wind power plant and a 100-megawatt energy storage system, with a total investment of $260 million, are currently under construction in the Beruniy district. Furthermore, practical work has commenced in Kungrad on the construction of wind power facilities with a total capacity of 2,000 megawatts.
During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on key issues, including further strengthening and expanding cooperation, engaging local residents in construction and plant operations, leveraging the capacity of educational institutions in Karakalpakstan for workforce training, and outlining future plans.
