A Directorate of the Special Mining Zone "Besqala Mining Valley" Will Be Established

❗️ In accordance with Resolution No. 143, adopted by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan specifically for the Republic of Karakalpakstan, the establishment of a special mining zone, "Besqala Mining Valley," is envisaged within the territory of the region.

For the purpose of managing the zone, a Directorate "Besqala Mining Valley" shall be established under the Council of Ministers in the organizational-legal form of a limited liability company. Concurrently, the National Agency for Prospective Projects is designated as the authorized working body responsible for issuing permits to conduct mining activities.

Simultaneously, the following procedure is established:

➡️ Legal entities seeking to obtain resident status of the special zone and to conduct mining activities shall submit a corresponding application to the Directorate;

➡️ The Directorate shall review the received applications and, in the event of a positive decision, shall confer resident status of the special zone upon the applicant;

➡️ The resident shall be issued a permit to conduct mining activities by the authorized body without requiring the submission of additional documents.

The Directorate shall carry out the registration of residents, maintain their records, and bear responsibility for the timely and proper consideration of applications.
