The “Destination Karakalpakstan 2026” Forum Held

Today in Nukus, at the “Ak Kus” complex, the first “Destination Karakalpakstan 2026” forum was held, aimed at promoting the tourism potential of the Republic of Karakalpakstan on the international stage.

The opening ceremony featured a speech by M. Atamuratov, Chairman of the Committee of the Jokargy Kenes of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, who congratulated the participants on the commencement of the forum and emphasized its significance.

As noted, in recent years, alongside other sectors, special attention has been given to the development of tourism as one of the key branches of the national economy. In this regard, a comprehensive set of large-scale measures aimed at strengthening the sector is being consistently implemented.

As a result of these efforts, the country’s tourism potential has significantly increased, while the interest of foreign visitors in Uzbekistan continues to show steady positive growth.

During the forum, participants thoroughly discussed current issues related to the development of the region’s tourism infrastructure, the creation of new competitive tourism products, and the expansion of its presence in the international tourism market.
