Opening Ceremony of the Second Stage of “Olympic Heights of New Uzbekistan” and the “Presidential Olympiad” Held in Nukus

A solemn opening ceremony of the second stage of the sports competitions “Olympic Heights of New Uzbekistan” and the “Presidential Olympiad”, as well as the “Olympiad of the Chairman of the Jokargy Kenes of the Republic of Karakalpakstan,” was held in Nukus.

The event was attended by M. Atamuratov, Chairman of the Committee of the Jokargy Kenes of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, E. Kutibaev, Minister of Sports, and Sh. Aitbaev, Executive Director of the Karakalpakstan branch of the National Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan.

The competitions officially began with judo events. On the tatami, athletes who had won at district and city stages competed for advancement to the next round of the tournament.

As part of the “Olympiad of the Chairman of the Jokargy Kenes of the Republic of Karakalpakstan,” competitions in other sports disciplines are also scheduled. Winners and prize-winners will earn the right to represent their regions at the national stage of the competition.
