Karakalpakstan Delegation Pays Working Visit to China

In accordance with the instructions of the respected President, the delegation of Karakalpakstan led by Amanbay Orynbaev, Chairman of the Jokargy Kenes, arrived in the People’s Republic of China on a working visit.

On the first day of the visit, the business forum on trade-economic and investment cooperation “Uzbekistan (Karakalpakstan) – China (Xinjiang)” was held.

Within the framework of the forum, a meeting took place with Zhu Lifan, Deputy Chairman of the People’s Government of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, during which information was presented on the favorable conditions created for investors thanks to the special attention of the respected President to the development of Karakalpakstan. The parties reached preliminary agreements on the implementation of projects in the fields of natural resource processing, transport and logistics, agriculture, and livestock farming.

A separate meeting was then held with Xiao Ewen, Deputy General Director of China Railway Construction Heavy Industry Co., Ltd. Following the negotiations, a memorandum was signed on the establishment of agricultural machinery assembly and service maintenance operations in the city of Nukus.

Together with Ma Wenyu, General Director of Xinjiang Zhongtai Chemical Co., Ltd., the parties discussed the organization of caustic soda and polyvinyl chloride (PVC) production in Karakalpakstan, as well as the creation of the “Aral” logistics center with the status of a dry port.

Special attention was also given to accelerating the implementation of the wind turbine mast production project being carried out by Xinjiang Goldwind Science & Technology Co., Ltd., as reported by the company’s Deputy General Director, Chen Jun. In addition, during a meeting with Tian Feng, a cotton cultivation contract worth 40 million US dollars was signed.

In the following discussions, the parties considered projects aimed at improving the feed base for livestock farming, producing stone powder panels, construction materials, cable products, agricultural machinery, and other initiatives.
