Interregional Cooperation Issues Discussed

The second day of the delegation of Karakalpakstan’s visit to the People’s Republic of China was filled with important meetings and negotiations.
In particular, a meeting was held with the leadership of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. During the talks, the consistent strengthening of trade and economic cooperation between the two sides was emphasized.
Amanbay Orynbaev, Chairman of the Jokargy Kenes of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, provided detailed information on the favorable conditions created for investors thanks to the special attention of the country’s respected President to the development of Karakalpakstan.
In addition, proposals were put forward in eight areas of cooperation, including the joint implementation of practical investment projects in sectors such as agricultural machinery production, caustic soda manufacturing, and several other industries.
Chen Xiaojiang, Secretary of the Communist Party of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, expressed readiness for cooperation on socio-economic issues, including the development of modern agriculture, retraining of specialists, the green economy, environmental protection, trade and economic relations, and tourism. Following the meeting, the parties agreed to further elaborate cooperation in four key areas.
A separate meeting was also held with Alif Erxi, Vice President of the Xinjiang Academy of Agricultural Sciences. During the negotiations, prospects for cooperation were identified in the cultivation of forage crops for livestock farming, the introduction of Chinese expertise, and the further development of agriculture. An agreement was reached to sign a memorandum in this area.
