An award ceremony for the winners of the second stage of the New Uzbekistan Olympic Heights sports competition—the Chairperson of the Jokargy Kenes of the Republic of Karakalpakstan Olympic and Paralympic Games—was held at Youth Square in Nukus.
The event was attended by the Chairperson of the Jokargy Kenes of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, Amanbay Orynbayev, who congratulated the young athletes on their outstanding achievements and wished success to those who earned qualification for the republican stage of the competition.
It was noted that in recent years, alongside reforms in other sectors, Uzbekistan has placed special emphasis on the development of physical culture and sports, increasing youth participation in sporting activities, and promoting both Olympic and traditional national sports. The New Uzbekistan Olympic Heights competition, launched on the initiative of the President of Uzbekistan, has become one of the country's flagship sports programs.
This year, nearly 23,000 young athletes participated in the first stage of the competition across 13 sports disciplines. Following the second stage, more than 350 athletes out of nearly 3,000 participants secured places in the Presidential Olympiad.
It was emphasized that the Presidential Olympiad has evolved beyond a sporting competition, becoming a celebration of athletic excellence, friendship, and unity among the country's youth.
The winners received their awards during the ceremony, which concluded with a festive concert featuring renowned artists and cultural performers.
