Traditional "Esar Jayhun Shamollari" Singing Competition Opens in Turtkul

The traditional "Esar Jayhun Shamollari" singing competition has officially begun in Turtkul District. The event is dedicated to preserving and promoting Uzbekistan's national musical heritage, supporting young performers, and carrying forward the artistic legacy of the renowned singer Otajon Khudoyshukurov.
The opening ceremony was attended by R. Nurazizov, Deputy Chairman of the Jokargy Kenes of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, along with distinguished figures from the fields of culture and the arts. In their remarks, they emphasized the importance of preserving national performance traditions, nurturing the next generation of artists, and discovering new talent.
The festive atmosphere was enhanced by performances from beloved singers, who delighted the audience with a vibrant concert featuring popular songs and traditional melodies.
Nearly 60 talented young performers from across the country are taking part in the competition. Contestants are performing works from Otajon Khudoyshukurov's repertoire, as well as outstanding examples of the nation's classical vocal heritage, showcasing their artistic skill and vocal excellence.
The winners and prize recipients will be honored today during the grand opening ceremony of the Otajon Khudoyshukurov Amphitheater, newly built in Turtkul District.
