A ceremonial event dedicated to the Day of Press and Mass Media Workers, celebrated annually on 27 June, was held today at the Berdakh Karakalpak State Academic Musical Theatre.
The celebration was attended by Chairman of the Jokargy Kenes of the Republic of Karakalpakstan Amanbay Orynbayev, who extended his congratulations to journalists, editors, broadcasters, and other media professionals on the occasion of their professional holiday.
In his address, he emphasized that, under the leadership of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, consistent efforts have been made in recent years to strengthen freedom of speech and access to information, provide comprehensive support to the media sector, enhance its role in society, create favorable conditions for journalists and media professionals, and ensure broad, objective coverage of the country's ongoing reforms.
It was noted that media representatives make a significant contribution to the objective reporting of the country's political, social, and economic transformation, promote the large-scale reforms carried out under the motto "For Human Honor and Dignity," highlight issues of public concern, and help facilitate their constructive resolution.
As part of the celebration, a number of distinguished media professionals were presented with the honorary badges "Ibratli Ayol," "Watan Pidayysy," and "Ümit Ushqyny," along with commemorative gifts in recognition of their professional achievements.
