50,000 Head of Pedigree Cattle to Be Imported from China to Karakalpakstan

To implement the objectives set out in Presidential Resolution No. 179 on the development of the livestock sector, a delegation from the Republic of Karakalpakstan, led by First Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers F. Nurmukhammadov, paid a working visit to the People's Republic of China.
During the visit, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the Chinese company Hualing Yecheng Agriculture and Animal Husbandry Development Co., Ltd. and O‘rta Qala Chorva Mollari LLC.
Under the agreement, 50,000 head of pedigree cattle will be imported to Karakalpakstan over the next three years. As the first phase of the project, 200 head of pedigree cattle have already been delivered, and work has begun on their proper management, breeding, and further expansion of the herd.
The project is expected to strengthen the region's breeding stock, increase the population of high-yield cattle, boost meat and dairy production, and facilitate the introduction of modern livestock technologies and international best practices.
International cooperation projects of this kind play an important role in ensuring the sustainable development of the livestock sector, creating new employment opportunities, increasing local incomes, and strengthening food security across the region.
