Mangit Drinking Water Treatment Facilities Commissioned in Amudarya District

Ahead of the 35th anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan, large-scale development and improvement projects are being implemented across all regions of the country. Among them is one of the major facilities commissioned in Karakalpakstan at the initiative of the President of the country — the Mangit drinking water treatment facilities in Amudarya District.
Community representatives and elders of the republic familiarized themselves with the work carried out at the facility.
As part of the project, with a total cost of 167.7 billion sum, the facility was completely reconstructed, creating the capacity to treat up to 40,000 cubic meters of water per day.
In addition, three drinking water supply facilities were reconstructed and more than 300 kilometers of water supply networks were upgraded as part of the project.
As a result of the development work carried out, the proportion of the population of Amudarya District with access to centralized drinking water supply has reached 80 percent.
Of particular importance is the fact that the commissioning of the facility has become a meaningful holiday gift for the residents of the district.
