EMBLEM
STATE EMBLEM OF THE REPUBLIC OF UZBEKISTAN
The State Emblem of the Republic of Uzbekistan was adopted on July 2, 1992, by the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. 616-XII "On the State Emblem of the Republic of Uzbekistan." The State Emblem of the Republic of Uzbekistan features a depiction of the rising sun over mountains, rivers, and a flourishing valley, surrounded by a wreath consisting of wheat ears on the right and cotton branches with open bolls on the left. In the upper part of the emblem is an is an eight-pointed star (octagon), symbolizing the unity and confirmation of the republic, inside of which is a crescent and a star. In the center of the emblem is the Humo bird with outstretched wings - a symbol of happiness and freedom-loving. At the bottom of the emblem, on the ribbon of the wreath, is the inscription "O‘ZBEKISTON", representing the name of the country. In the colored depiction of the State Emblem of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Humo bird and rivers are silver; the sun, ears of wheat, open cotton bolls, and the inscription "O'ZBEKISTON" are golden; the branches and leaves of cotton, mountains, and valleys are green; the cotton in the open bolls is white; the ribbon is tricolored, reproducing the colors of the State Flag of the Republic of Uzbekistan; the octagon is white with a golden outline; the crescent and star are white.
STATE EMBLEM OF THE REPUBLIC OF KARAKALPAKSTAN
The Law "On the State Emblem of the Republic of Karakalpakstan" was adopted on April 9, 1993, at the 12th session of the Supreme Council of the Republic of Karakalpakstan. The State Emblem of the Republic of Karakalpakstan symbolizes the state sovereignty of the Republic of Karakalpakstan. The emblem depicts a golden sun rising over dark blue mountains, the Amu Darya River, and the Aral Sea. The wreath, made of cotton branches and wheat ears, is tied with ribbons in the national colors of Uzbekistan and Karakalpakstan. On the lower part of the ribbon is the inscription "KARAKALPAKSTAN" in red letters. At the top of the emblem is a light blue eight-pointed star with a golden outline, symbolizing the unity of peoples, with a silver crescent and star at its center, which are sacred symbols of Islam. In the foreground is the bird Humo of silver color, symbolizing wealth, nobility, and selflessness. In the background is the ochre-colored Shylpyk mountain-fortress, one of the oldest cultural symbols of the Karakalpak people, representing the ancient culture and identity of the peoples of Karakalpakstan.
