A Nation Lives Through Remembrance

On May 9, Remembrance and Honor Day was solemnly observed, coinciding with the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Second World War.
In honor of the occasion, representatives of state and public organizations, as well as members of the broader community, gathered at the “Grieving Mother” memorial square in the capital city of Nukus.
Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, Amanbay Orynbaev, laid a wreath at the “Grieving Mother” monument and paid tribute to the memory of those who lost their lives during the Second World War.
Representatives of the Armed Forces and affiliated structures, institutions and organizations, as well as youth and members of the general public, also laid flowers in honor of the fallen.
