As part of a project by the Ministry of Ecology, research has shown that this giant reed species stands out for its adaptability to harsh conditions.
Its roots reach depths of up to 2 meters, allowing it to access groundwater. Shoots planted using root cuttings from Urgench and Karakalpakstan showed a survival rate of over 90%. This method is considered a promising approach for greening and ecological restoration of the Aral Sea's dried seabed.
