Meeting with the Executive Director of the Green Climate Fund

The Chairman of the Jokargy Kenes of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, Amanbay Orynbaev, met with Mafalda Duarte, Executive Director of the International Green Climate Fund.

It is worth noting that during the visit of the Karakalpakstan delegation, led by the Chairman of the Jokargy Kenes, to the Republic of Korea, an agreement was reached on close cooperation and joint work with the fund, whose representatives were invited to Karakalpakstan. Today's meeting is considered one of the important steps toward strengthening and consolidating the established relations.

The meeting discussed in detail the work carried out in recent years under the leadership of our esteemed President aimed at developing the Aral Sea region, mitigating the consequences of the ecological disaster in the area, and improving the living conditions of the population.

Additionally, the discussion covered attracting grant funding from international donor organizations aimed at improving the living conditions of the population in the Aral Sea region and mitigating environmental impacts. It also addressed the experience of partners cooperating to improve the ecological situation in the region and the search for innovative solutions in this area.

In turn, the guests expressed their gratitude to the republic’s leaders for the warm hospitality and conveyed their views on further expanding cooperation, making effective use of available opportunities, and strengthening mutual ties in attracting grant funding.

At the end of the meeting, the Chairman of the Jokargy Kenes emphasized readiness for continued active dialogue aimed at expanding cooperation and affirmed support for any initiatives.
