Karakalpakstan Launches Second Stage of 'New Uzbekistan Olympic Peaks' Sports Competitions

The opening ceremony of the second stage of the 'New Uzbekistan Olympic Peaks' sports competitions was held as part of the preparation for Olympic and Paralympic sports in Nukus.

At the event, the Head of a Committee of the Jokargy Kenes of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, M.Atamuratov, and the Minister of Sports, E.Qutybayev, delivered speeches and extended their best wishes to the athletes.

As part of the 'New Uzbekistan Olympic Peaks' initiative, the first competitions were held in the Taekwondo WT discipline. Young athletes from all cities and districts of the Republic took part in the event.

The tournament, filled with intense and dynamic matches, concluded with the winners being awarded diplomas, medals, and valuable prizes.

It is worth noting that participants who performed successfully at this stage and won in their respective weight categories have earned the opportunity to compete in the third stage - the Presidential Olympics.
