An Event Dedicated to Trade Unions Day Held
Today, in one of the picturesque corners of Nukus city, a festive event was held to mark November 11 — Trade Unions Day of Uzbekistan.
The event was attended by F. Ermanov, Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, and R. Nurazizov, Deputy Chairman of the Jokargy Kenes of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, who congratulated workers of the sector on this significant occasion.
It was noted that trade unions make a worthy contribution to the implementation of consistent reforms aimed at creating a free and prosperous life, building a democratic society, and ensuring tangible results. In the large-scale construction and development efforts being carried out across the country under the slogan “For Human Dignity,” the trade unions of Uzbekistan — with their 120-year history — play an important role.
Speakers also emphasized the role of trade unions in protecting the socio-economic interests and rights of workers, as well as in improving the well-being of the population.
In addition, a number of representatives of the sector were awarded badges of honor based on a resolution of the Presidium of the Jokargy Kenes of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, while several activists received the commemorative badge “120 Years of Trade Unions of Uzbekistan.”
The festive event concluded with a friendly tea gathering and a concert performed by artists of culture and the arts.
