New Facilities Commissioned to Provide Clean Drinking Water to Residents of Nukus District
On November 11, a ceremony was held to inaugurate newly built facilities designed to provide clean drinking water to the residents of Nukus District. Among them are a new building for the district water supply enterprise, pumping stations, water pipelines, and a modern laboratory.
The event was attended by Amanbay Orinbaev, Chairman of the Jokargy Kenes of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, who delivered a welcoming speech and congratulated participants on this important occasion.
It should be noted that the construction works were carried out under a special decree of the esteemed President with financial support from the Asian Development Bank amounting to USD 11.4 million. As part of the project, 263 kilometers of water pipelines were laid, improving access to clean drinking water for more than 31,000 residents of the district.
In addition, the “Madaniyat,” “Obodon,” and “Kerder” pumping stations, a two-story building for the water supply enterprise, and a modern laboratory equipped with all necessary instruments were constructed.
As a result of the completed works, the level of water supply in the district increased from 68.4% to 90%.
Undoubtedly, these newly commissioned facilities will serve the population for many years, ensuring a stable supply of high-quality drinking water.
At the end of the ceremony, participants familiarized themselves with the completed construction works and the newly created infrastructure.
