Republican Women’s Conference Held
Today, a republican conference titled “Unlimited Opportunities for Women: The Experience of Karakalpakstan,” dedicated to enhancing the economic activity of women and their participation in entrepreneurship and handicrafts, was held in the city of Nukus.
The event was attended by the Chairman of the Jokargy Kenes of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, Amanbay Orinbaev, and the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Chairperson of the Committee on Family and Women’s Affairs, Zulaykho Makhkamova. They noted that, under the leadership of our esteemed President, comprehensive support for women, encouragement of their entrepreneurial initiatives, and the creation of new opportunities for them are being implemented nationwide.
Over the past three years, more than 1,400 women have been provided with permanent housing; within the framework of the “Women’s Notebook” program, over 193,000 women received practical assistance totaling 292 billion soums; and more than 450 female students in need of social support received contract tuition payments amounting to 3.5 billion soums.
The republican conference, organized to promote economic activity and entrepreneurship, brought together 300 active women and representatives of relevant institutions from the city of Tashkent.
A fair showcasing products of women’s entrepreneurship and handicrafts was held during the event, where the broader public had the opportunity to see the professional potential of women and the capabilities of local production.
During the conference, issues related to women’s employment, support for entrepreneurship and crafts, capacity building and skills development, as well as the creation of new opportunities, were discussed.
